Arroyo Watch: Sun.Star blog on President Arroyo

The MMC meeting aims to emphasize the greater role of microfinance institutions in helping to bring about social change through the delivery of services and capability development.

The vision of MMC is for the reduction of poverty in Mindanao and in improving the economic conditions of the poor by enabling access to both financial and capacity development services.

The MMC is an aggrupation of over 42 Mindanao-based microfinance institutions composed of rural banks, non-governmental organizations, and cooperatives.

At present, the member institutions of MMC have a total outreach market of over 400,000 active clients throughout Mindanao. The MMC aims to reach another one million clients within the next three years. (Press release)
