SOME 200 riders will see action when the Abante Grande Mountain Bike Challenge hits the road on April 27.
PhilCycling Davao chief Salvador "Jun" Paholio Jr. said the race is sponsored by Davao City Councilor Paolo Z. Duterte, who is also the barangay captain of Catalunan Grande.
Mary Grace Udang, a member of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation from Catalunan, said the race will feature an open elite, junior 23-years-old under, senior 24-34 years old, masters 35-above and ladies open categories.
Udang said the open elite champion will pocket P2,500, while the runner-up will receive P1,500 and third placer will go home with P1,000.
The race is organized by Samahang Siklista Kooperatiba ng Dabaw (SSikad) in coordination with the Barangay Council of Catalunan Grande in cooperation with Karancho Catalunan Grande Chapter and Davao City Sports Council Inc.
