Council planning session on Tuesday
By Grace L. Plata

THE Davao City Council will hold a planning session Tuesday in lieu of a regular session.

Since the body has already accomplished the mandatory four regular sessions in a month, there is no need to hold another for the month of April.

"Naay (There is a) planning session ug (and) unwinding for all members of the 15th Council sa World Palace after," Councilor Edgar Ibuyan said.

According to Vice Mayor Sara Z. Duterte, she asked the council secretariat to organize the activity after all the recent disagreements between several councilors. The move is meant to "cool them down".

Duterte said among the agenda in Tuesday's gathering is the update on the proposed amendments to the council rules, mechanics for the media hour, secretariat, and administrative and individual concerns of the councilors.

"Each councilor will shell out P850 from the MOOE (Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses) for this," Duterte said.

Floor leader Danilo Dayanghirang said they will review their output in relation to the goals set during their legislative planning session in Manila last year.

"The vice mayor asked the secretariat to come up with a calendar of performance. So far, we have already passed the Local Development Plan for Children and the Fisheries Code, which were in our list. We will look into amending the zoning ordinance now and have initated talks with the City Planning and Development Office," Dayanghirang said.

"We need to be updated of the status of proposed items as well as those we have set during the planning session in Manila so that we can make actions to fast track their passage," he added.

Regular session will resume on May 6.
