No shabu labs here, but marijuana farms abound
THERE are no laboratories making shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) here, but the region is profuse with marijuana plantations, the regional director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 11 said.
"There are marijuana plantations in Davao del Sur, Davao del Norte, and in Compostela Valley," Supt. Glenn dela Torre said in Monday's Kapehan sa Dabaw in Cafe Rysus at SM City Davao.

While they have not monitored illegal drug manufacturing here, dela Torre said shabu still finds its way into Davao City.
"We try to intersect them before they enter here," de la Torre said.
De la Torre added that the drug comes in from the north and the south. "Mas marami ang nanggagaling sa south," he said.
"These drugs that enter the south come from the Cotabato area," he said. (CPM)
