Luxury resort living
By Jinggoy Salvador

IMAGINE living along the pristine shores of an island getaway, a garden city. Your beach house, your time away from the bustling city life of Davao. A long stretch of white sands for you to frolic, bask and luxuriate on.

Arroyo Watch: Sun.Star blog on President Arroyo

The eternal dream? By now, you would know how I have been longing to reside by the beach, somewhere I can call my own. How many seaside stories have you read on this page? How many enchanting sand and surf photos have you laid your eyes on this column? Countless!

From the surfing tides of Siargao to the equally exciting sand turfs of Mati, from the secluded beaches of Pangao in Bohol to enjoying glowing sun at Terazzas de Punta Fuego in Batangas, from the amazing equatorial paradise islands of Palau to the nude beaches of For-men-tera in the Balearic Islands in Spain, sunsets in our very own Boracay and to the famous chill out beach of Café del Mar in Ibiza. The list goes on...and I am not about to cease in discovering and setting foot on "new" sand and tread on cool waters of the sea.

Living by the sea gives me the sense of freedom. The calming sea breeze blowing is relaxing and the seawater is refreshing. Plus the fact that the appropriate dress code is always "islandic", board shorts and a shirt or minus the latter.

Be it lazing, lounging or playing frisbee with your Labrador, jump in and out of the sea, it's a sunrise to sunset entertainment with a single look. Think of how many gallons of laundry water I have saved in two years living in Bora.

Given the chance, a residence by every beach of choice will be ideal for me. A winning lotto ticket will make that possible, but for now I am looking at what the daily rind income can make do with. Perhaps a place in my hometown.

Finally, it's here.

Landco Pacific and Anflocor gave a few lucky Dabawenyos a sneak peek of the new and exciting venture they are brewing in Samal. Quick travel to and from Davao -- 10 minutes to be precise, the new must-live in village by the Davao gulf will enjoy an amazing view of cityscape and breathtaking sunsets. They call it Playa Azalea.

It's a new lifestyle offering for a good number of sea lovers, 800 to be exact and a planned hotel to rise soon. The village will have a tropical Asian theme in architecture and will come with posh amenities. What really got my attention more than anything in this feature: 400-meter beachfront -- white sand! Consider than my tanning bed to share with you as my neighbor. Tanned villagers, fantastic!

With a great track record of developing deluxe properties in their name: Peninsula de Punta Fuego, Terazzas de Punta Fuego, Amara en Terazzas, Playa Calatagan, Ponderosa Leisure Farms and Playa Laiya, you can expect Landco Pacific to create nothing less than the best for the discerning Southerners. It's a world-class undertaking in partnership with Anflocor that can never go wrong. Landowner Mr. Antonio Floirendo, president of Anflocor, gave his thumbs up.

My dream is within reach and is about to come true. You can be part of this and you can call it your own private resort getaway. Treat yourself and be a part of this best-in-class seaside community, you deserve it, I know I do.
