2 die in Pantukan tunnel cave-in

TWO small-scale miners died when the tunnel they were working in collapsed on Friday due to incessant rains.

Reports reaching Sun.Star identified the fatalities as Ronald Calisto, 21 years old, and Rudy Anayo, 39.

The two were said to be inside a makeshift tunnel at sitio Panggubaan, Barangay Las Arenas in Pantukan, Compostela Valley at around four in the afternoon of May 2 when the tunnel caved in.

The two miners were trapped inside the tunnel for hours before their bodies were retrieved. It was not ascertained if there were other miners inside the tunnel when it collapsed. (BOT)
