Sunday, May 11, 2008 Authorities still clueless on Midsayap van bombing
KORONADAL CITY -- Authorities are still facing a blank wall on the group or persons behind Thursday's bomb attack at a terminal in Midsayap, North Cotabato, said a top military official Friday.
Colonel Pedro Soria, 602nd Infantry Brigade commander, said the identity of the suspect remains unknown even as no group has so far claimed responsibility for the explosion.
No one was killed in the attack but eight people were hurt. Three persons remain in critical condition.
Investigations are still on going and it might take three days for military bomb experts to determine the kind of explosive used, he said.
Midsayap police chief Chino Mamburam said in a radio interview that they have witnesses who are helping authorities identify the man who left the explosive inside a parked public utility van.
He declined to identify the witnesses for security reasons.
