MILITANT groups are gearing up for the nationwide transport strike Monday to protest the spiraling prices of fuel.
As a prelude to Monday's activities, the Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) and Consumer Alert will stage simultaneous protest actions at 3 p.m. Sunday in Matina Crossing, Jones Circle, Buhangin and R. Castillo-Lanang Junction.
Women's group Gabriela will also spearhead an all-women picket rally.
On Monday, mass action will be held in different areas of the city.
Labor group Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU) will lead the protests to be staged in Panabo.
Anakpawis, Consumer Alert, and teacher's group Kamken-ACT, meanwhile will head the activities in Matina Crossing.
In Bankerohan, near the National Labor Regulation Commission (NLRC), the protests will be led by Gabriela and Bayan Muna while the one in the R. Castillo-Lanang Junction will be headed by the Nagkahiusang Mamumuo sa Davao City Water District (Namadacwad).
The Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP), Samakana, and Anakbayan will lead the protests in Buhangin.
All groups will head for Jones Circle where the concluding program will be held starting 3 p.m.
