A 15-year-old boy died while another was wounded when attacked by rival teenagers in a disco in Budbud, Bunawan, this city, at past midnight Saturday.
Senior Police Officer 1 Roger Danila, Bunawan police station investigator, identified the fatality as Jay Mike Asuque and the wounded as Ewald Galaura, 18, both residents of Purok 11 in Tibungco, Davao City.
The victims were with friends in the disco at around 1:35 a.m. of May 10 when attacked with knives by a group of boys.
Asugue, who succumbed to multiple stab wounds on his right chest, was declared dead by the responding Central 911 ambulance while Galaura was brought to the Davao Medical Center.
"Suspected gang members na sila. Dumot-dumot man gud na diha sa Tibungco. As alleged, mga taga Tibungco daw tong mga suspects pero wala pa na-identify (They are believed to be gang members. Gangs there hold grudges against each other.
There are claims that those who attacked them are from Tibungco but we have not identified any suspect)," PO2 Gonzaga of the Bunawan police said in an interview. (RMH)
