HOST Coastland Davao Swim Team (CDST) emerged champion at the close of the 9th Davao Mayor's Cup Swim Meet held at the Ladislawa Country Club in Buhangin over the weekend.
Philippine Amateur Swimming Association (Pasa) regional director Deedee Gonzalez said Dadiangas Torpedoes Swim Club placed second while Tangub Aquaflyers Swim Club came third in the point-system competition format.
She said a total of 131 swimmers competed in the two-day tournament that served as the kick-off leg of the Regional Swimming Association (RSA) 11 Series.
Dadiangas Torpedoes who bet Justice Wee was hailed most be-medalled swimmer in boys six-under while Plunge aquatics' Franco del Rio and Polomolok Aqua Sprinters' Mariel Sorolla dominated the boys and girls 7 events, respectively.
The rest of the top tankers were Tim Adona of Dadiangas Torpedoes (boys 8), Janna de Luna of CDST (girls 8), Anton Facturan of Dadiangas Torpedoes (boys 9), Joanna Alquisar of Tangub (girls 9), Christian Madrigal of Blue Sharks Swim Club of Cagayan de Oro (boys 10), Dara Evangelista of the East Aquatics (girls 10), Raphael Facturan of Dadiangas (boys 11); Justin Mae Dagdag of CDST (girls 10), Fritz Anos of Dadiangas (boys 12), Sweet Angel Altamera of CDST (girls 12), Ron Facturan of Dadiangas (boys 13), Maria Keisha Mercado of Warrior Aquatic Club of General Santos (girls 13) and Lawin Dacera of Dadiangas (boys 14).
The South Cotabato Aquatics Swim Club will host the next leg at the Koronadal Sports Complex, Koronadal City in July then the series will return to Davao City
on August 16 and 17 for the third leg to be hosted by the Evangelista Aquatics Swim Club.
The fourth leg is set on Sept. 6 and 7 at the Acharon Sports Complex, Gen. Santos City with Warrior Aquatics Club as host while the final stop is slated November 15 and 16 at the Dacera Farms in General Santos City to be hosted by the Dadiangas Torpedoes Swim Club. (MLSA)
