ORGANIZERS have reduced the purchase requirement of Primovit vitamins to P170 from P300 for registration to the 2008 PRIMOVIT and Gaisano South Citimall Rapid Age Group Chess Championship set from June 27-28 at the Gaisano South Citimall, said tournament director Ronnie Tabudlong in an e-mail to Sun.Star Davao.
"The affordable purchase requirement will allow more players to join the two-day Swiss system format chessfest that features four divisions," Tabudlong said.
He said it will have the 12 years old and under (born not earlier than 1996), 14-under (born not earlier than 1994), 16-under (born not earlier than 1992) and 18-under (born not earlier than 1990) categories.
"The first to fourth round will be played on the first day while the fifth to seventh round will be played on the second day. The awarding ceremonies will follow after the final round," Tabudlong said.
Only the top two players in each division will receive cash prizes.
The champions will go home with P3,500 each while the runners-up will claim P2,000.
Deadline of registration is on June 26 at 7 p.m.
"We will accommodate up to 100 entries so we encourage players to register early. We deserve the right to accept or reject any entry without giving any reason. Withdrawals shall not be refunded," Tabudlong said.
