Kings notch 4th win in Superbull tourney
THE Gorio's Cafe Kings notched their fourth win in five outings after beating Tri-Star, 77-66, in the resumption of the Superbull Basketball Tournament at the Ladislawa Gym over the weekend.
Tri-Star, which led the first half, dropped to a 2-3 record. The Kings, managed by William Brito and sponsored by Eugene Chiong and Winston Sala, put up solid defense for Tri-Star to succumb to costly turnovers.

Playing-coach Bing Fernandez topscored with 17 points, while Kevin Sy, Charlie Uy and Eugene Chiong added 16, 15 and 10, respectively.
In an earlier match, Monterey edged CDC, 83-81, as Raz led the team with 14 points and Eric Irlandez added 10.
Ogie Calio sizzled with 27 markers while Jason Tan drilled 21 points for Monterey's losing cause. Team manager Dr. Jun Calamba made 11.
The loss was CDC's first in six starts while the win gave Monterey an improved 2-3 card.
GSM Blue downed Vetmedix, 75-67, to bag its first win at last after losing its past four games.
CDC, on Monday, clobbered GSM Blue, 86-71, with its six players figuring in double digits -- Rey Fernandez 16, Tan 12, Calamba 11, Calio 10, Ravanes 10 and Cagape 10.
Sure White, meanwhile, routed Vetmedix, 72-52.
The Petron XCS topped the team standings with a clean 4-0 slate. (MLSA)
