THE SBC Tatlohan Bowling Challenge 2008, which will open on May 20 at the Fairlanes Bowling Center, serves as a tune-up tournament for Davao City bowlers who are set to compete in the National Invitational Tournament slated June 15 to 20 in Iligan City.
This was bared by Sunday Bowlers Club board of director and past president Emie Orteza during the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at the Tower Inn Thursday.
"After the successful National Fedbop Open Bowling Championships in General Santos City, Davao bowlers are looking forward to the Iligan event that stakes over P200,000 in cash prizes courtesy of Iligan Mayor Lawrence Cruz," Orteza said.
Orteza said close to 20 teams are expected to compete in the Tatlohan competition that offers P3,000, P2,000 and P1,000 to the top three teams.
Participating teams will play a six-game elimination series where the top three teams will enter the step-the-ladder finals.
Games will also be played on May 22 and 23 in the open bowlfest.
Registration fee is P750 for every team inclusive of alley fees. (MLSA)
