Karapatan a 'fault-finding' body: Army official
By Ben O. Tesiorna

A MILITARY official accused militant group Karapatan as nothing but a "fault-finding" body unleashed by the enemies of the state against the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the government.

Major General Jogy Leo Fojas, chief of the Army's 10th Infantry Division, said Karapatan's accusations are all but part of a propaganda war of the New People's Army (NPA) and its supporters against the government.

He said Karapatan's accusations should not be taken seriously as they are all farce.

For his part, AFP chief of staff General Alexander Yano cautioned the public, especially the media, from taking Karapatan accusations hook line and sinker.

He said media practitioners are unknowingly being used by the enemies of the state in their propaganda war.

Fojas then challenged militant groups to bring their accusations to court and file charges against anyone they accuse of having a hand in the death of Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) leader Celso Pojas on Thursday morning.

Karapatan secretary general Kelly Delgado on Thursday accused Major Medel Aguilar of having a hand in the death of Pojas. Aguilar denied it outrightly, branding the allegation as "outrageous".

In a casual talk Saturday morning, Aguilar said he is not keen in filing libel charge against Delgado since he will just be forcing Delgado to hide in the mountains like what happened to Bayan Muna leader Alvin Luque, who is now facing rebellion charges.
