Sunday, May 18, 2008 KMP not convinced Maneros linked to Pojas' killing
THE Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) does not believe police claims that the Maneros are in any way linked to the slay of KMP spokesperson Celso Pojas.
KMP vice chair Pedro Arnado, in a telephone interview Saturday, reacted to Regional Police Chief Andres Caro's statement that Pojas' death could be brought about by his family's links with the New People's Army (NPA) and the Maneros' recent pronouncement of war against the NPA rebels.
"Ingon nila ang mga igsuon ni Pojas mga NPA daw. Dugay na na silang mag-uuma diha sa Mandug, wala gyud igdungog nga na-involve na sila sa NPA," Arnado said.
Arnado added that KMP believes that Pojas' death is indeed perpetrated by the military due to his active participation in exposing their human rights violations in Compostela Valley and Davao Oriental.
"Diversion lang ni nila. Ang among pagtoo gyud nga naa sa ilang han-ay ang responsable," Arnado said. (GLP)
