A TOTAL of 25 cagers from original 40 trainees completed the first stage of the National Basketball Training Center (NBTC) Davao training program that ended at the Monta¤a Gym, Agdao Saturday.
NBTC Davao territory head lawyer Manny Nitorreda bared this during the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at the Tower Inn Thursday.
"Four of our top trainees are now in Manila including Raphael Romeo Nayve and Baser Amer who are trying out for San Beda High School. They are now playing for San Beda in various summer leagues in Manila as part of their tryout," Nitorreda said.
Nayve was awarded the Molten drill sharp shooter award while Baser was hailed most Nike outstanding player. The latter was also recipient of the two-ball king award in the 14 to 15 years old bracket.
Nitorreda said NBTC project director Eric Altamirano, who led the closing rites, was impressed with the Davao training center.
The other awardees were Paolo Angelo Dailisan (14-15 Mr. Chill Drill), Felix Carmelo Pepito (16-17 two-ball king), Kurt Brian Russ Aliño (16-17 Mr. Chill Drill), Chuck Anthony Orbase 14-15 and Eric Matthew Cabigas 16-17 (Lay-up Legend), Miguel Plata 16-17 Sharp Shooter, Ryan Victor Serafin 14-15 and John Michael Santia (Captain Commando), Hermogenes Maning, Jr. 14-15 and Gryann Mendoza 16-17 (All-Heart Award), Rocky Vyrian Mejos 14-15 and Martin Delfinado 16-17
(Most Committed), Nico Te 14-15 and Ranel Marc Sencio 16-17 (Most Improved) and Erickson Galacgac (Most Outstanding Player).
