Friday, May 23, 2008 Inter-purok cagefest gets going Saturday
THE Barangay 19-B will open an Inter-Purok Basketball Tournament on Saturday, aside from its ongoing volleyball tournament, at the Garcia Heights Subdivision.
Davao Amateur Volleyball Association's Exequiel "Iking" Tomines, also women's volleyball coach of the Holy Cross of Davao College, said the volleyball and basketball tournaments are part of the Brgy 19-B sportsfest.
"There are 10 teams are entered in ongoing volleyball meet," he said in Thursday's Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at the Tower Inn.
Dava, meanwhile, hosted the successful Philippine Volleyball Federation (PVF) Referees Congress that attracted a total of 76 participants from all over Mindanao at the HCDC Gym over the weekend.
Dava will also officiate the SK Summer Sportsfest Volleyball Tournament that will get underway on Monday.
"There was a slight problem with the budget but I think that was already resolved between the SK and Dava. The SK meet will push through at last," Tomines said. (MLSA)
