THE Petronas team emerged champion at the close of the SBC Tatlohan Bowling Challenge 2008 at the Fairlanes Bowling Center over the weekend.
The twice-to-beat Petronas, composed of James Bardon, Jonax Olivar and Boy Aniñon, beat RBB in a single game to pocket the title and the cash prize of P3,000.
The RBB team of Robert Balana, Boy Banluta and Benjie Boncato placed second with P2,000 while JMB-RAM team of Joe Torres, Madz Lauro and Boy Soriano got the P1,000 third place prize.
Petronas garnered a total of 2,068 pinfalls in the six-game elimination series to grab the NO. 1 spot and the twice-to-beat advantage in the step-the-ladder finals.
JMB-RAM came second with 2,063, while RBB was third with 2,054. The latter, however, defeated JMB-RAM to arrange a titular showdown with Petronas.
A total of 19 teams saw action in the meet organized by the Sunday Bowlers Club in preparation for the upcoming Iligan City Mayor's Cup Bowling Tournament in June. It stakes huge cash prizes for the winners. (MLSA)
