Bendigo inhibits from Torres St. slay case
By Rhodamae M. Hernandez

CHIEF Prosecutor Raul B. Bendigo inhibited from the case filed against a member of a prominent clan in Davao City accused of shooting to death two young men along F. Torres street on May 23.

In a request letter of inhibition to Regional State Prosecutor Antonio Arellano, Bendigo said "he has a close relationship with the older members of the Villa-Abrille clan."

In an interview, Bendigo said he will forward all the documents to the Regional State Prosecutor for his appropriate action.

"Ang request letter ko was addressed to Regional State Prosecutor Arellano and siya na ang bahala sa kaso. Marami akong mga kaibigan na Villa-Abrille," Bendigo said.

The suspect, identified as Ken Alder Villa-Abrille Lelis, was charged of two counts murder after he was positively identified by witnesses as the alleged gunman who shot dead cousins Rey John Mojica Tolentino, 22, and Rommel Tolentino Siglo, 22, at around 11:45 p.m. on May 23.

The four witnesses, who executed their affidavits, pointed to Lelis as the alleged "gunman."

The suspect remains at large.
