Sara wants pa to mediate in Diarog, Lelis cases

DAVAO City Vice Mayor Sara Duterte said her father is keeping hands off policy on the controversial Diarog murder case and the shooting incident along F. Torres street.

Both incidents implicated personalities that have close ties with her father, Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.

She said if she would have her way, she wanted Mayor Duterte to mediate for the expeditious resolve of the two murder cases.

"The mayor prefers to be silent. Sa akin sana, he would mediate, ask Lelis to cooperate and resolve the land dispute in Guianga. Siyempre I also understand that it's beyond his job as city mayor and also he is not feeling well lately," the young Duterte said.

Sara earlier said she would support a full investigation on the death of a lumad leader in Tugbok. Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy was implicated as the person behind the murder.

In the Lelis case, the young Duterte said it would be best for the Villa-Abrilles to fully cooperate in the police investigation.

Student Ken Alder Villa-Abrille Lelis is the prime suspect in the shooting incident along F. Torres that resulted to the death of two people.

Police investigators, however, revealed that the Villa-Abrilles are not that cooperative with the investigation. Rumors have it that the suspect is now hiding in Macau.

Sara, however, clarified that that she is not dissenting the policy of her father not to get involved in the two murder cases.

"The mayor and I may have different takes on the Diarog and Lelis case. But I don't want to argue with the mayor in public because I respect his position," she said.

Some sectors are questioning the nonchalant attitude of Mayor Duterte in the two murder cases since Quiboloy and the Villa-Abrilles are personally close to him.

The mayor has also not made any statement on the Lelis case as of this writing Monday.

People close to Duterte, however, said the mayor is not available for comment as he is on vacation until June 15. (BOT)
