Metrobank, BPI triumph
METROBANK and BPI downed their respective opponents Saturday to share the top spot in team standings of the Bankers Cup 2008 basketball tournament.
BPI crushed Securitybank, 91-79, behind the combined 58-points of Charlie Uy (20), PJ Samson (79), and Joel Cervantes (12).

Metrobank, meanwhile, had to flex extra muscles before beating Enterprisebak, 78-77. Both BPI and Metrobank are now holding 4-1 win-loss cards in the eight-team tournament.
In other games, Banco de Oro downed Citibank, 88-76, while Plantersbank won over RCBC, 104-86. BDO and Plantersbank are tied with 3-2 slates apiece.
