KTV bar manager sued for employing minors
By Rhodamae M. Hernandez

THE City Prosecutor's Office filed charges against the operations manager of a karaoke bar in Lanang, Davao City for employing a minor as guest relation officer.

Charged was Arturo Saludes Gamayot of Blue Opera KTV after Prosecutor Jofre Saniel found probable cause to hold him for court trial based on the complaint filed by PO3 Shermalou Javier and PO1 Lino Almonia of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).

In a joint affidavit, the two said they received information around 11 a.m. of June 12 that the KTV bar employs minors as guest relation officers and entertainers.

Forming a crack team, they went to the place around 11:30 p.m. of the same day and asked the operations manager for the employment records of the girls in the bar.

One of the girls did not have an employment record, thus raising their suspicion. They arrested the operations manager and brought the girl for questioning.

Saniel recommended a bailbond of P2,000 for the respondent's temporary liberty.
