Rody warns 'Matina claimant' v. creating trouble in city

DAVAO City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte warned an alleged claimant of most part of Matina area from creating confusion and trouble in Davao City.

The mayor made the warning after receiving reports that the supposed claimant is being supported by a judge in the city and collects money from owners of private properties that allegedly belong to him.

Dabawenyos are curious who the mayor was referring to,as he refused to name names, not even the judge.

In his television program "Gikan sa Masa, Para sa Masa" Sunday, Duterte advised the claimant to bring his or her case to the court.

He also warned the judge to refrain from backing up the claimant.

"Tamparuson ko nang mga papeles ninyo sa inyong mga nawong kung magsamok-samok mo dinhi sa Davao (I will slap your documents on your face if you insist on creating trouble here in Davao)," Duterte warned.

Unconfirmed reports reaching Sun.Star Davao showed that a group of individuals are claiming ownership of most of the lands in Matina area.

The claimants are said to be armed with legal documents that would support their claim. So far, none of these claimants has filed a case before the court. (BOT)
