Court to rule on Larosa bail petition in 30 days
By Rhodamae M. Hernandez

REGIONAL Trial Court Branch 17 Judge Renato A. Fuentes said he will resolve within 30 days the petition for bail submitted by the suspect in the killing of broadcaster Fernando "Batman" Lintuan in December 2007.

"Just like the banana issue, I finished it in less than a month. Madali lang din naman itong petition nila, pagkatapos magbigay ng mga evidence, the case will be submitted for resolution," Fuentes said.

Leonilo Larosa, assisted by his legal counsel Ramon Edison Batacan, earlier entered a plea of not guilty.

Fuentes ordered Larosa's arrest after sustaining the prosecution's findings of probable cause but Larosa surrendered to court custody even before the warrant was served.

Larosa, a blocktimer at dxGO just like Lintuan, is the suspect in the killing of the latter on December 24, 2007 after he was positively identified by one of three witnesses.

Lintuan was shot dead along R. Castillo Street in Agdao while driving his Volkswagen from his radio station.

Larosa was earlier charged with illegal possession of firearms after a search operation yielded Colt Mark IV series 80, a caliber .38 Super Pistol; four magazines; 32 rounds of caliber .38 ammunition; one magazine pouch; one outside gun holster; and one black clutch bag from his Pajero with plate number LME 239 as a subject of the search warrant issued by the RTC 11 Executive Judge Isaac Robillo.
