Thursday, June 19, 2008 Solariega's water supply woes over soon: developer
THE water supply woes of residents living in a posh village in the southern portion of Davao City will soon be over.
The developer has invested an additional P1.8 million for the installation of a new pipe connecting the main line of the water utility company to the pipelines of the homeowners.
"We are now hydro testing the area, it's the last stage before we connect the pipes," said Myra Lynn Gilig, general manager of Communities Philippines.
Communities Philippines, a subsidiary of Vista Land, is the developer of the Caribbean-inspired community -- Solariega -- in Talomo, Davao City.
Gilig said there was a problem in the phase 3 of their property development due to the low pressure of water being supplied by the Davao City Water District to the area.
"They did not expect that there will be such rapid demand in supply," Gilig said.
To solve the problem, Gilig said they installed new pipes that will connect to the mainline of the DCWD.
"If we connect to the existing ones, we will affect the water pressure of the other homeowners, and even that with Gulf View," Gilig said. "It (problem) will soon be over." (CPM)
