Based on reports gathered from the Cotabato City Police Office, the victims gathered a bunch of mushrooms that sprouted beside their house around 9 a.m. Sunday and ate it for lunch.

A few minutes later, the victims experienced dizziness, stomach cramps and started vomiting.

The victims were brought by the neighbors to the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center. A few of the victims who ate generously are the ones in critical condition.

According to a staff from the City Health Office in Cotabato City, the mushrooms were poisonous since it was white in color and could have come from the urine of either a dog or a rat.

Doctors have conducted further examination on the victims to determine the real cause of the food poisoning. (Edgardo Fuerzas)
