Rebels burn Globe tower in Baganga

MEMBERS of the New People's Army (NPA) burned a telecommunication tower in Baganga, Davao Oriental Tuesday morning.

Based on the military report, about 10 armed rebels attacked the Globe cell site at Barangay Lucod, around 6 a.m.

The .38 caliber service firearm of the lone guard of the tower was reportedly taken by the rebels, who fled the site after burning down the tower's power generator.

A platoon from the Philippine Army's 1001st Infantry Brigade has been dispatched to pursue the rebels as of this writing Tuesday. (BOT)
