Daddies' day out!
By Janette Huang-Teves

They walked the ramp with an attitude. Armed with confidence while dressed in various attires from casual to formal wear, you wouldn't guess that these cool and hip daddies were first-time models!

Last Father's Day, SM City Davao paid a fitting tribute to several Dabawenyo dads through a fashion show dubbed as "Dads on the Ramp" held at the mall's The Event Centre.

Nine amazing dads coming from different fields and interests, together with their lovable children, were especially invited to grace the affair. They included William Noel, president of Camera Club of Davao, with sons Tristan, Nathaniel, and Anthony; Dr. Rovic Cuasito, dentist and TV personality of ABS-CBN Davao, with kids Lawrence Ire and Lyka Ice; Kornelian Baz Cocjin, games master and head fitness instructor for Holiday Gym and Spa, with son Vincent Job; Anthony Chuang, marketing officer for Holiday Gym and Spa, with kids Axel and Althea; Ted Uy, head supervisor for Holiday Gym and Spa, with daughter Shanna Kat; Rene Cajoles Sr., director for a banana plantation in Davao Del Norte, with children Renee Hamida; and Rene Jr., Sun.Star Davao's very own "Tatay" Rene Lumawag, photojournalist with son Skippy; Bong Aportadera, Davao City Tourism Officer; and Ross Luga, Davao Light and Power Company Corporate Communications Officer, with daughter Jossan May.

The daddy-models sported the latest apparel and accessories from popular establishments like Dr. Marten's, Bossini, Collezione, All Flip-Flops, Eye Crafter, Loalde and Compliments. As bonus treats, they even got to bring home some of the items they modeled from the generous sponsors.

Other well-deserved surprises that dads got to enjoy at SM City Davao were the Father's Day Wall of Greetings, free massage by Holiday Gym and Spa, free pictorials courtesy of 1001 Digital Photography, and "Rhythms for Dad" featuring balladeer Richard Poon.

Certainly, all the hardworking and loving fathers felt pampered and important as they experienced their very own Daddies' Day Out!
