Foundation holds dental mission

THE Don Antonio O. Floirendo Sr. Foundation (AOFF) organized a dental mission in Barangay Tawan-Tawan, Calinan, Davao City on June 27.

"Nagpasalamat gyud ko ug dako sa AOFF ug Davco para aning ilang libreng serbisyo kay panagsa ra ni muabot diri sa among dapit (I really thank AOFF and Davco for this free dental service since this rarely happens in our area)," said Feliciana Guhiling, one of the beneficiaries of the activity.

A hundred people, both young and old, availed of the free services offered by the foundation, in partnership with the Davao Agricultural Ventures Corporation (Davco) and the local barangay council of Tawan-tawan.

Dr. Nicolas Dawi Jr. and Dr. Guada Andree Jumaguin were the private dentists who volunteered for the mission.

"This is the sixth dental mission this year and a lot of similar free services will be given to the residents of various areas," said Russell U. Barrizo, AOFF programs director.

He said AOFF considers organizing free health services as among its first priorities.

"Bombo Medico" will be the next medical mission by AOFF, in partnership with Bombo Radyo. It is scheduled this July 6 at Market Baset and is targeting 1,000 beneficiaries.

The services will include free medicines and free pediatric, pulmonary, eye, ear-nose-throat, dental, and cardiovascular checkups as well as prostate cancer screening.
