ROMY Abellana copped the Daciba Class B title at the expense of veteran bowler Nonoy Calida at the Dover Mega Lanes over the weekend, said Davao City Bowlers Association (Daciba) president Ninfa Daclan.
She said Abellana beat Calida in their step-the-ladder championship showdown.
The ladies crown, meanwhile, went to Jade Toribio who bested Louella Cerna.
During the Daciba Tatlohan, which was sponsored by Dover Mega Lanes owner Bong Vergara, the BBS trio of Boy Soriano, Ping Efondo and Jayme Bardon emerged champion to pocket the P3,000 cash prize.
The Brillian 1 team of Berting Gorgoinio, Fritz Barros and Cris Betonio placed second to pocket P2,000 while Calida and his wife Cheche with Jonax Olivar combined forces for Jorano team's third finish. Jorano settled for P1,000.
Daclan said the Daciba will hold a Kadayawan tournament on July 28 and 30 and August 1 and 4 with the championship set on August 6.
"It is open to members and non-members alike. We will implement handicapping," Daclan said in a statement. (MLSA)
