Dancing the rain away
By Carlo P. Mallo

EVEN with the heavy downpour, Dabawenyos still flocked to the Bar One on June 27 to dance the night and the rain away with the rhythmic beat of the drums of Brazil.

The people of Davao, after all, know how to party and to party hard.

The party people of Davao were given a taste of how it was to party in Brazil with Lakas Atenista's annual Just Dance party series. This year, Just Dance took in a new shape with its Brazilian theme.

Aptly dubbed as Just Dance! The Drums of Brazil, the party brought in the flair and rhythm of the drums of Brazil, complete with scantily clad Rio dancers and fire-eaters.

No party will be complete without overflowing booze. Drinks ranging from the all-time favorite San Miguel Beer, the sinful Sauza Tequila, rock hard Fundador Brandy, and the diet-friendly Coke Zero cocktails, never went out of stock the entire event.

It was a night filled with revelry as students and professionals alike simply threw caution to the wind and let go of their inhibitions for one hot night of dancing and party.

Just Dance! The Drums of Brazil was brought to you by Lakas Atenista and Sauza Tequila. Other sponsors include Coke Zero, CD Asia, o3creatives, Garimon Roferos, Fundador and Jim Beam, Havaianas, Uraya Land, San Miguel Beer, and Marlboro.

Lakas Atenista is an organization of law students of the Ateneo de Davao University who emphasizes on the values of Excellence, Quality, and Unity.

In its 21 years of existence, Lakas Atenista has already produced 9 topnotchers.
