IED intercepted in Maguindanao

AUTHORITIES intercepted an improvised explosive device (IED) in Maguindanao last Sunday afternoon.

The bomb was allegedly planned to be detonated at a terminal in Sultan Kudarat Monday had it not been monitored.

Eastern Mindanao Command spokesman Major Armand Rico said the bomb was recovered by the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines at 12:15 p.m. of July 6 in Talayan, Maguindanao.

The said IED was allegedly assembled by one Arman Mano and intended to be detonated at a van terminal in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat.

The bomb is composed of an 81mm mortar with a mobile phone as its triggering device.
