BDO rallies past BPI in Bankers' Cup 2008 By Charles Raymond A. Maxey
BANCO DE Oro (BDO) unleashed a big finishing kick and leaned on a crucial defensive job.
Egay Dalisay edged league-leading Bank of the Philippine Island (BPI), 89-87, Saturday in the Bankers Cup 2008 basketball tournament at the Evergold Recreation Center in Bo. Obrero.

With the score tied at 87-all with 17 ticks left, BPI's PJ Samson had a chance to give his team the lead, but Dalisay blocked his shot and Bryan Cabug-os made a basket to beat the buzzer at the other end of the court for BDO.
Dalisay's late-game heroics and Cabug-os's basket completed a searing rally by the BDO dribblers, who erased a nine-point deficit with under two minutes left in the game.
BDO improved to 7-4 in the team standings, while BPI kept the lead at 8-3.
Plantersbank beat Enterprisebank behind the 24 points of Arvin Leong, 77-72, to remain in solo second with its 7-3 slate.
Citibank Savings, meanwhile, posted its second win following its 78-63 conquest of Secutiybank, while Metrobak crushed RCBC, 80-66.
