Ayala-Floirendo project still in council's agenda

THE City Council will continue to deliberate on the application for reclassification of the Floirendo property in Bajada for the planned Ayala Center Davao in Tuesday's session.

Invited resource persons include the City Engineer, the District Engineer, and the head of the Traffic Management Board.

They will discuss the drainage plans of Ayala management as well as identify options that would ease traffic build-up in the area when the mall is operational.

Floor leader Danilo Dayanghirang, after the Ayala management presented the project last Tuesday, said that as soon as the drainage system and traffic issues are addressed resulting in the approval of the reclassification, the approval of the project itself would be easy and fast.

"We just need to ensure that the project is environmentally sound and would not pose a problem to the city," Dayanghirang said.

Other items in the City Council for Tuesday include the presentation and discussion of the World Bank/IFC Report on business permit processing, 11 items for first reading, and eight items for committee reports notably the Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan for 2008-2017. (GLP)
