Wednesday, July 23, 2008 Tim Ando captures SBC Class A bowling title
TIM Ando pocketed the Class A title of the Sunday Bowlers Club (SBC) Bowler of the Week Tournament by hitting a total of 269 pinfalls in two games at the Fairlanes Bowling Center Thursday evening.
Mel Bojo rolled 254 pins to place second while Boy Soriano scored 252 for third in the qualifying event for the monthly finals.
Veteran female bowler Che-Che Calida struck for 246 pinfalls to rule the class B while Nonoy Baluyot placed second with 235 and Boy Payca came in close third with 234.
The Class C title went to Jayvee Baluyot who garnered 209 pinfalls followed by Dr. Teddy Cansino (206) and Fred Encabo (200) in second and third, respectively.
Che-Che Payca, meanwhile, took home the championship prize at the expense of Arlene Tamayo and Arianne Velasco who settled for the next two spots in the ladies category.
Payca made 194 pinfalls while Tamayo had 189 and Velasco got 187.
