Warehouse raid yields explosives
By Ben O. Tesiorna

A RAID at a warehouse in Tacurong City Wednesday resulted to the recovery of assorted ammunition used commonly by terrorist bombers.

In a report by the Eastern Mindanao Command, Task Force Talakudong conducted the raid at the warehouse of the Southern Metal and Furnishing Center at Apilado Subdivision, Barangay Poblacion around 8:15 a.m.

The raid yielded two 105mm, four 81mm, and two 60mm ammunitions. One live ammo was said to have been sewed at the nozzle tip by the warehouse caretaker identified only as Lito.

The warehouse is reportedly owned by Marilou Fernandez. Authorities readily invited the owner and caretaker for questioning.

The recovered explosives were meanwhile turned over to the 65th Explosive Ordnance Division for proper disposition.

A day earlier, authorities intercepted an improvised explosive device rigged in a motorcycle in Maguindanao province. The bomb was said to be on its way to Davao City when the motorcycle had a flat tire along Barangay Kauran.

The motorcycle was already abandoned by the bomber when the authorities arrived in the area.
