Information gathered from members of the Davao City Council said Zuño was immediately cremated in the afternoon and was interred Friday morning at the Davao Memorial Park.

There was no reason given for the immediate burial.

A product of the Ateneo de Davao University Law School, Zuño took up Political Science at the same university as preparatory course.

He was a first district councilor before being elected vice mayor, which post he served from February 5, 1998 to March 29, 1992 under the administration of Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.

He ran for Congress against current Press Secretary Jesus Dureza and lost.

Zuño, who has never married, assumed many positions under the national government and was the Presidential Assistant for Political Affairs under the Office of the Executive Secretary with the rank of undersecretary prior to his death.
