The new season of the GS Cup, the longest-running youth cagefest in Mindanao, will open on August 16.
Tournament director Rico Jhone Biliran said a total of 66 teams have been invited to compete in the mini, cadet, girls, juniors and college categories.
"But we have yet to send invitations to collegiate teams. We gave out invitations early to mini, cadet, girls and juniors teams because their games will also be played earlier than the collegiate games," Biliran said.
Gaisano Grand Citimall Davao Ad and Promo head Karla Georgia Palermo-Corcino, in a recent statement, confirmed the entry of Holy Trinity College from General Santos City in the junior's event.
Invited mini, cadet, girls and juniors squads have only until July 30 to submit their entries while organizers set August 30 as deadline for the collegiate teams. (MLSA)
