THE lawyer of the army reservist accused of possessing a handgun was asked by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 17 Judge Renato A. Fuentes to present other witnesses to support the denial by the accused of the charges filed against him.

Fuentes, in an order, said that lawyer Jonathan Pantojan will present his witnesses on August 25 around 8:30 a.m.

Oliver Baldonado Antoc earlier posted his reduced bail of P40,000 from P80,000 for the case and another P100,000 for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Earlier, Antoc pleaded not guilty on his two charges.

Antoc was charged based on the joint affidavit of arrest executed by PO3 Melvin Joseph Violan and PO2 Anthony Dechaves of the Regional Special Operation Group of the Police Regional Office Southern Mindanao.

Antoc was arrested at 6:15 p.m. of December 28 while buying grilled chicken with his wife at La Verna Hills in Buhangin for an unlicensed handgun and a sachet of crystalline substance believed to be shabu in his possession.

Antoc was also identified by two witnesses in a police lineup as the one who shot Lintuan just over a hundred meters from the dxGO radio station along R. Castillo St. in Agdao around 9:40 a.m. of December 24. (RMH)
