THE Dadiangas Torpedoes Swimming Team (DTST) amassed a total of 1,275 points to emerge champion in the Zeeplus "Languyan sa Kadayawan" Festival 2008 held at the Ladislawa Country Club in Buhangin over the weekend.
The Coastland Davao Swim Team (CDST), which topped the first leg of the Regional Swimming Association (RSA) 11 Series, placed second with 1,106 points while Polomolok Aqua Sprinter Swim Club was at distant third with 686 points.
The Plunge and Swim Team of Davao came in fourth with 445 points followed by Panabo City Swimming Club (285) in fifth, Aqua Tierra (182) sixth, GenSan Warrior Aquatic Club (157) seventh, Panabo Aquatics Swimming Club (149) eighth, Evangelista Aquatics Swim Team (124) ninth and South Cotabato Swim Team (74) 10th.
The most bemedaled swimmers were Scasa's Crisa Buenafe (girls six-under), DTST's Justice (boys six-under), PST's Bianca Korinne Trinidad (girls seven, PST's Franco Maxell del Rio (boys seven, PASSC's Bhezel Ann Acac (girls eight), DTST's Tim Adona (boys eight), CDST's Janna de Luna (girls nine-under), DTST's Anton Facturan (boys nine), East's Dara Clariza Evangelista (girls 10), PASSC's Kyle Gabriel Ortiz (boys 10), DTST's Pia Cardinal (girls 11) and DTST's Raphael Facturan (boys 11).
PASSC tanker Gizelle Joy Acac topped the girls 12 category while DTST's Fritz Anos ruled the boys 12 category in the swimming event presented by Zeeplus+Ascorbic Acid and backed up by Davao City Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte, Coca-Cola and Speedo.
Maria Keisha Mercado of GWAC dominated the girls 13 even as DTST's Ron Facturan swept the most gold medals in the boys' side.
The rest of the top swimmers were DTST's Irish Cruz (girls 14), DTST's Lawin Dacera (boys 14), DTST's Regina Quesada (girls 15), PCSC's Mark Rey Tan (boys 15), DTST's Mary Grace Garay (girls 16), CDST's Salvador Angala III (boys 16) and CDST's Carlo Rodriguez (boys 19 and over).
The Philippine Amateur Swimming Association (Pasa)-sanctioned meet, which was the second leg of the RSA 11 Series, attracted a total of 116 entries.
