Plantersbank, BDO move into semifinals

PLANTERSBANK and Banco de Oro overcame rivals that played inspired basketball to emerge triumphant in their quarterfinal encounters Saturday and advance to the semifinals of the Bankers Cup 2008.

Plantersbank defeated the Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC), 89-80, in a tough contest that featured lead changes.

BDO eliminated Enterprisebank from the race after scoring a 94-87 victory in the other quarterfinal game.

BDO plays Metrobank in a do-or-die semifinals starting at 1 p.m. on August 23, while Plantersbank meets Bank of Philippine Islands (BPI) in the other semis match at 2 p.m. also at Evergold Recreation Center. (CRAM)
