Friday, August 22, 2008 Two soldiers hurt in clash
TWO soldiers were wounded after an encounter between the Philippine Army and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) in North Cotabato Thursday morning.
The Eastern Mindanao Command of the Armed Forces of the Philippines said the encounter happened in Barangay Damatulan, Midsayap.
Elements of the Army's 40th Infantry Battalion Bravo Company and the Army's 69th IB encountered the group of MILF leaders Zaid Pakiladato alias Kumander Jad and Kumander Mesay, both from the MILF's 105th Base Command.
Firefight is ongoing as of this writing Thursday that resulted to the wounding of certain Corporal Ragonton and Sergeant Apduhan.
The military said the rebel group also incurred heavy casualty. (BOT)
