Hot, humid on Kayadawan's culmination

IT WILL be a hot and humid day during the two-day culmination of the 23rd Kadayawan Festival as temperature is expected to rise as high as 34 degrees Celsius over the weekend.

No weather disturbance, however, is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility in the next couple of days.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pag-asa) reported in its weather forecast that the humidity level will reach highs of over 96 percent during the mornings and will be at a low of 55 percent in the afternoon.

Temperature in the city will range from a high of 34 degrees Celsius to a low of 23 degrees Celsius.

The weather bureau also reported clear skies for the two-day culminating festivities, which include the Indak-Indak, or street dancing, on Saturday, and the highly anticipated floral float parade on Sunday.

But sporadic light rain showers may be experienced in the evening, which may be accompanied by thunderstorms. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies may also prevail in the later afternoon.

Light to moderate winds will be blowing from the southeast and southwest directions throughout the weekend. Coastal waters are expected to be slight to moderate. (CPM)
