Police identified the victims as Tumindig Mamaluba, Saliman Gyamil, Intang Malang, and Amiril Usop.

Reports gathered from the Maguindanao Police Provincial Office showed the victims were eating dinner inside the evacuation center in Poblacion, Guindulungan, around 6:40 p.m. of August 21 when a mortar shell of a
60 mm exploded.

Responding police brought the victims to the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center. They remain in critical condition as of this writing Friday.

MILF spokesman Eid Kabalu denies that the bomb was detonated by MILF troops. He believes that other groups, which aim to sabotage the peace and order in Maguindanao, were responsible.

Maguindanao Governor Datu Andal Ampatuan ordered the Departments of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Health in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Armm) to attend to the evacuees affected in the ongoing war in Mindanao. (Garry Fuerzas)
