Also arrested was his companion Danny Agmas, 30, a resident of Barangay Bulit, Datu Montawal, Maguindanao Province.
According to reports gathered by Sun.Star Superbalita from the North Cotabato Police Provincial Office, the incident occurred at 12:40 p.m. on August 23.

Authorities saw both suspects disembark from an L-300 van and when accosted, the two allegedly shot at them. The exchange of gunshots left Casan dead and resulted in the arrest of Agmas.
Three kilos of dried marijuana leaves, calibers .45 and .38 firearms, and ammunition were found in Casan's possession.
