Pacman cagers beat Collegiate All-Stars
JOHN Gonzaga rescued the Manny Pacquaio Warriors in the extra period to boot out the Davao Collegiate All-Stars, 85-82, in the 2008 Mayor Rody and Vice Mayor Sara Duterte-Kadayawan Commercial Basketball Tournament Saturday night at the Davao City Recreation Center.
Gonzaga rebounded from a grave mistake he did in regulation time when he lost control of the ball in an attempt for a winning jumper, 21 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Jasper Callo of the Collegiate All-Stars almost made the lay-up in the dying seconds.

Gonzaga drilled in a three-point shot, 78-75, two minutes and 16 seconds remaining that set the tone for the team of boxing champion Manny.
Callo canned in three-pointer to cut the lead, 80-83, and teammate Arnold Adormeo made just a one-point lead for the Warriors, 82-83, three seconds but Louie Medalla's gift shots sealed the win for the General Santos City-based cagers.
The Pacman Warriors were scheduled to play the Montana Pawnbrokers Sunday night for the title.
