Man faces abduction raps, rape of teener
By Rhodamae M. Hernandez

POLICE filed charges against a man accused of abducting and raping a 17-year-old inside a house in Malita, Davao City.

Charged with forcible abduction and rape was Angelito Dizon of Malita, Davao del Sur based on the complaints of the victim's parents.

In their affidavit, the complainants said that on July 28, their daughter was fetched by her classmate, later identified as the suspect, allegedly for a school activity.

They said their daughter failed to come home since that day, prompting them to go to the teacher's house and learned that there was no such school activity on the day their daughter was fetched.

They went to the suspect's house and were told that he left together with a young woman.

Upon verification with the school, the two still attended their classes on August 2.

They were informed that the suspect is a suitor of their daughter and that the suspect earlier threatened their daughter with harm if she turns him down.

They then decided to seek the assistance of the Toril police.

On August 14, the operatives of the Investigation and Detection Management Section (IDMS) coordinated with the Malita police on the suspect's whereabouts, thus the latter's arrest at his house in Barangay Sangay.

The suspect is now detained at the Davao City Police Office's IDMS detention cell.
