Ang bags table tennis crown

TANDUAY Distillers bet Arnold Ang edged Central 911 player Novem Isidor, 3-2, to pocket the men's singles title of the Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte-Vice Mayor Inday Sara Duterte 23rd Kadayawan sa Dabaw Table Tennis Tournament at the S.I.R. Elementary School over the weekend.

Isidor placed second while Alex Ang of Goldstar Hardware placed third in the two-day meet presented by Mayor Duterte and Vice Mayor Duterte in coordination with the Sports Development Division of the City Mayor's Office.

The women's singles crown went to Jacqueline Caragao of the Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) who survived a 3-2 win over teammate Debby Kate Mascardo. The latter settled for the runner-up honors while another HCDC player Evelyn Nemeñol came third.

In the men's singles class B, Mark Anthony Prado beat Conrado Roa of Brokenshire, 3-2, in the finals. Road and Ryan Datuin of the Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School (DRANHS) placed second and third, respectively.

HCDC's Mirabel Roferos, meanwhile, topped the girls 18-under by overcoming Lyndell Sellado of Emar Learning Center, 3-1.

Emar's Loren Erika Mendiola placed third in the meet officiated by the Metro Davao Table Tennis Association.

Brokenshire's Gene Ablanque clinched the boys 18-under title over brother Gil Ablanque and Carljun Cola who finished in the next two slots.

The top three winners in each category received cash prizes and medals. (MLSA)
