Wednesday, August 27, 2008 Zambo all set for Minbizcon
THE 17th Mindanao Business Conference (Minbizcon) is all set to happen in Dipolog City from August 27 to 29.
With the theme "One. Global. Filipino: making Public-Private Partnerships Work for Mindanao's Economic Development", the Mindanao gathering of entrepreneurs will be attended by no less than US Ambassador Kristie Kenney as keynote speaker.
President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is also expected to attend the closing ceremony as guest of honor.
The three-day event will be a mixture of fun and serious business. There will be two days of plenary sessions and one day of golf and tours.
Speakers during the plenary sessions include Zamboanga del Norte Governor Roland Yebes, Agriculture Secretary Arthur Yap, Chamber of Mines president Benjamin Philip Romualdez, Ambassador Donald Dee, and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief of staff General Alexander Yano.
Each of the speakers will talk about his and her expertise on topics like mining, agriculture, peace and order and security, investment opportunities, construction, international trade and cooperation, social development, intellectual property rights and tourism.
The event is hosted by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industries (PCCI) led by Edwin Capili, PCCI regional governor for Western Mindanao and Armm.
The entire event will be held at Zamboanga del Norte Convention center in Dipolog City. (BOT)
