Friday, August 29, 2008 IMT uniform found at clash site
A MILITARY uniform of a Malaysian International Monitoring Team (IMT) member was recovered by government soldiers from a clash site in Midsayap, North Cotabato that was occupied by the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) rebels days ago.
A report from the Armed Forces of the Philippines Eastern Mindanao Command showed that an upper uniform of a Malaysian IMT was recovered along with two MILF uniforms, bandoleers, and rifle butts at the vicinity of Barangay Lomopog.
It was learned that on August 26, troops from the Army's 6th Infantry Battalion also recovered three VHF radios after their encounter with the MILF rebels in Barangay Kabuntalan, Shariff Kabunsuan.
When asked how the Malaysian uniform got into into the hands of the MILF, officials of the EMC expressed surprise as well but refuse to speculate. (BOT)
